Norman Blake & Euros Childs – Stage Times / Concert Details
Really excited and looking forward to the Feb edition of FRETS this Friday 21st. Here are some details. The Strathaven Hotel has a good restaurant and bar food is also good. There is parking at the hotel, though it is expected to be busy as the concert is sold out. People usually queue up before doors open to get a seat near the front, as tickets / seats aren’t numbered they are bagsied on a first come first seated basis. There is a bar next to the concert room, though that bar will close just prior to Norman and Euros taking the stage (there is a main bar through next to the restaurant). As the evening features acoustic performances, a listening audience is greatly appreciated by the artists. Here are the stage times.
7pm – Doors
7.15pm – RUBBER REVOLVER
8pm – KIDD
9pm – NORMAN BLAKE & EUROS CHILDS
The concert finishes around 10.30pm, with the main bar remaining open for post match analysis.
Public transport is not great, trains run regularly from Glasgow Central to Hamilton Central and Larkhall. A taxi would be required thereafter, which would cost around £15 to get to the Strathaven Hotel. If taking this mode of transport, a taxi would need to be ordered to collect from the Strathaven Hotel to the train station to catch the last train. There are buses from Hamilton and East Kilbride too.
Hope you all have a great night, and word up – keep your eyes peeled for another FRETS concert announcement this Monday morning, it is another cracker. It’ll be announced exclusively on this blog at 10am on Monday, along with a link to purchase tickets.
Hi frets
Really looking forward to this – just so I can plan the journey home properly – is it a curfew so needs to finish at 10:30 or is there a chance it will run on – I know you probably can’t make any guarantees but it would be good to know the chances of catching the buses after half 10 or not?? If you see what I mean – Would hate to leave and miss anything if it runs on – any chance of that I’d bring the car but I’d love to know I’d be safe for a bus n a few pints!!! (Hey I know your not responsible for public transport reliability! That’s out your hands…)

Hi Al, public transport is not great from Strathaven, there are buses that go to East Kilbride / Hamilton / Larkhall, and trains from there to Glasgow. The show should be over by 10.30pm, but it might be tight getting last buses to the above destination. All bus / train times etc should be online. Looking forward to tonight, should be a cracker.
