We were delighted when the Creative Strathaven CIC shop and gallery opened up in our creative hub at 2 Barn Street Mews, Strathaven on July 18th.
After a hectic week of set-up and a busy first weekend, the shop has seen a steady flow of customers through the door to see the wide range on offer from over 40 artists and makers.

There are lots of plans for the future including the development of some ideas for the October week. These are likely to be largely outdoor events to keep families and young people active in art and photography amongst other things. More details to follow.
We would love to be in a position to use our workshop space but that is not really feasible at the moment with socially distancing still a vital part of managing COVID-19. However as soon as we are able to do so we will be letting you know all about our art, photography, creative writing and music workshops, and also plans for maker demonstrations and presentations. We will also then be able to welcome Open Space into our premises for its long-awaited weekly meeting space.
Below is a gallery of some of the products on show. Keep an eye on the Creative Strathaven website at http://www.creativestrathaven.co.uk, Facebook page and Instagram for all the latest information on the shop and the artists we stock. Also for updates on plans for the October week and future workshops.

It’s a huge welcome to 2 Barn Street Mews in Strathaven! Home of Creative Strathaven and Frets Creative – two different but like minded organisations who want to build a creative community hub in the town. Right now the space is a shop and gallery (run by Creative Strathaven) but there are big plans to run lots of workshops and various events through both organisations when it’s safe to do so again. Some events will also be a collaboration as Creative Strathaven and Frets Creative both get in on the act! So watch this space and make sure to follow both organisations on Facebook and Instagram.
